Shamus Brennan serves as Administrative Assistant with Open Society Justice Initiative working in the OSI-DC office. Shamus received his Bachelors Degree from the College of William and Mary, in Virginia, in International Relations and Public Policy. He is soon due to receive his Masters degree in International Relations from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. His thesis is entitled, "Institutional Reform and the Changing Political Role of State Expenditure in Africa." He has worked as a researcher at the EDGE Institute, an economic policy center in Johannesburg that does research to promote sustainable growth, development and distributional equity.
